Introduction
to my WayPoint Business Software
Waypoint is designed to be the core office application for
clients that adopt it. It is a central nervous system for managing contact
relationships, workflow work-in-process, document cataloging and knowledge
base content. It does not include accounting, but it is designed to feed
demographic and time tracking data to cooperative accounting packages.
In particular, an export bridge is included for QuickBooks Pro because
that's the accounting package we use here at Breeze Easy.
This rigorous office application includes several major functionalities
that clients have needed time and time again over my years of service.
It can be adopted as it is, or it can serve as the basis for a customized
solution. Since the data is kept in MS SQL Server, it can be accessed
by other tools and applications as determined by each client's security
policies.
Contact Relationship Management
Manage standard data for Contacts including addresses, phones, faxes, emails, and web sites.
But also track group membership, multiple locations, notes, and documents.
Search a half dozen different ways.
Manage Assets, Events and Projects too
Manage standard data for not only Contacts, but also Assets, Events and Projects. Document relationships among them all.
Assets can have owners. Projects can be for Assets and/or Clients.
Tracking Events allows for managing Asset Schedules. Designed to complement traditional project
managemenet software, this project module archives notes, documents, participants, and milestones.
Bar Code your Assets. Track Event Participants.
Document and File Management
Scan all hardcopy documents and convert them into PDF's. Catalog all files
into a searchable library. Add searchable Keywords. Rename files easily.
Manage checkouts and audit all file access. Save all versions, view any
file, view its versions and Rollback as needed. Archive, delete and undelete.
Manage hardcopy-only documents too. Generate bar codes. Launch a new email
message containing a desired file with a single click. Store Sent/Signed/Returned
Dates and other data for each file.
Knowledge Base
A knowledge base allows you to organize all your firm's internal documents
for easy access. You can also establish employee Home categories and track
industry and technology topics as you see fit. You have total control
over the 3-tier topic partitioning. Waypoint ships with its own category
along with help content and supporting documents.
Time Tracking and QuickBooks Interfacing
Waypoint tracks Ad-Hoc, Campaign Tasks and Batch Job Tasks as well as
Project Tasks. We've added a utility to export this and all Customer,
Vendor and Employee demographics to a file format suitable for importation
into accounting packages..
Batch Job Engine supporting both
Dynamic Document Generation and
Dynamic Emailing
Build templates in Microsoft Word. You can include data inserts, conditional
blocks of text, reusable sub-templates and much more. This engine is open-architecture
so that you can add future templates based on any stored procedure you
care to create. You can also elect to email the results rather than print.
You can save the resulting documents - or not.
Workflow Routing and Marketing
Campaigning
We support projects, milestones and tasks. We track task times. These
tasks and times can be exported to a QuickBooks importable format. Define
Roles, Supervisors and Expertise. Define Project Types and Milestone Types.
Define serial and simultaneous default and optional task paths for each
combination. Assign Tasks and Users to Roles. Flag rushes and manage slow
work-in-process. Let productive users "pull" tasks rather than
calculate how much to "push" onto each. Stop manual exception
handling. You can define campaigns in a similar manner for "pre-sales"
and other non-transaction activities.
Security, Auditing and Error Handling
Every commercial grade application is built on a foundation that protects
your strategic data, audits user activities and includes effective user
messaging and error handling.

and Administration
Waypoint has many drop-down classification tables that you can populate
to fit your firm's circmstances. You can also control system and data
access with remarkably fine control and maintain your Roles, Tasks, Users,
Permissions and Memberships when you have appropriate permissions to do
so. You can view and purge six different audit logs.
