Our Adoption Process

We are pleased to make a first visit to tell our story and see if there might be a fit between our products and services and your needs. During that visit, we'll attempt to alert you to as many issues and opportunities as possible.

Once we begin the planning process in earnest we want to establish relationships with
* One or more Management Sponsors
* One or more User Gurus
* Your Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, Help Desk team, etc.

We'll encourage and help you analyze your office procedures. We'll need to:

* specify your workflow business rules
* define your roles and likely system, data and document access requirements
* review the use of the many classification lookup tables
* review your information system components and capacities
* plan possible data and document migration
* define possible template requirements

Once you have SQL Server up and running, we'll bring in Waypoint. We have a training database that will allow project team members to begin to get acquainted with the application. This will facilitate communication and business analysis efforts. If you elect to have some customization provided, then we will begin developing those enhancements as soon as they are clearly defined. If you need to upgrade your network, servers or other IT assets, then you can be getting this done at the same time. Because we'll need to test any significant customization that we provide for you, we'll be providing you with a customized training database during the implementation process.

Unless you are a venture startup, you've got data and documents that probably will need migration. Internal documents can be migrated during changeover or afterwards. However, client documents probably need to be migrated at changeover. Data migration can be a significant exercise. You can view DBMS, a powerpoint slideshow that Dr. Blozan has presented a few times on this subject and databases generally. Basically, once you've decided if any systems will be replaced, we'll need to map your existing data structures to ours. Since this is an upgrade, and very possibly a large one, you may need to "upgrade" some of your data in preparation of the final migration. For example, "soon" is not a valid date in Waypoint.

In order to be ready to change over, customizations must be complete, user gurus must be trained, data must be groomed, and systems must be ready. Ideally, change over takes place during a weekend when the firm is closed. We will be present for the entire first day of operations.
