Dynamic
Document Generation
Functional
Summary
Waypoint contains an engine that works with Microsoft Word 2000. You can
build document templates that contain text and bookmarks. Word is totally
controlled automatically by Waypoint. By defining the template's characteristics
in a set of configuration screens, final documents can be generated either
on an ad-hoc basis or in a large batch operation. What is more, you can
select either to have the documents printed or emailed to their respective
target's default email addresses. In fact, this batch emailing sub-engine
can be used without any templates to send out a batch message. And what
is more, the message can include any number of file attachments selected
from anywhere in the file repository.
Case Studies
We had a client several years back that was a plastic surgeon. Because
plastic surgery is elective, they knew that customer service and marketing
were especially important. Each time a surgery was scheduled, our system
would automatically generate a complete booklet that explained everything
the patient needed to know. This included how to prepare the day before,
directions to the particular hospital, possible risks for the selected
proceedures, a bio of the doctor involved, legal consent forms, etc. Since
the documents were generated immediately while the patient was still in
the office, they could be bound together with an attractive cover so that
the customer/patient could take it home as he/she left.
Advanced
Functionalities
We've added a number of more subtle system behaviors that save time and
make the lives of users easier.
* Generate documents based on new templates that you created and based on
a new query you created in the database.
* Use templates that fire business rules that remove inappropriate sections
of the documents.
* Use templates that embed other templates so that you don't have to repeat
text in many places.
* Enjoy the ease of using pre-existing parameter sets we've already provided
and also create new ones.
* Easily run a batch job for an existing campaign or event already defined
in the system.
