Summary
For many reasons firms have ocassion to define a target set of contacts,
(employees, vendors, potential customers, etc.) and then perform a task
for each. The task could be evaluating their web site, performing an annual
employee review, or insuring that default physical and email addresses
exist. Waypoint allows you to define reusable "Promotions" for
which you can define initial filter criteria that will define the target
set of contacts. You can also define up to six possible outcomes that
could occur as a result of performing the task. With each outcome you
can elect to have the database updated in several ways typical of contact
management activities: revise the next contact date, add a note, indicate
that the task is or isn't yet complete for this contact, etc.
Management can launch a "Campaign" by invoking all the saved
settings of a promotion and possibly adjusting the target audience. Employees
can then be instructed to work the campaign. They do so by clicking a
button on the main menu. A task briefing is displayed if one exists and
then the contact screen is presented for the first contact. A script can
also open if one exists. A timer has begun. The employee can navigate
all the data for that contact as appropriate. When the contact screen
is closed, an outcome screen opens allowing the user to select any outcome
by clicking a radio button. All of the preconfigured outcome data edits
are then displayed which can be revised if needed for this contact. The
user then either selects "Next" or "Done." A contact
task is logged and the user is presented with the next target contact
if requested.
This is a very efficient methodology for many routine office tasks.
Case Studies
Here at Fast Answers we select to review the web sites, for example, of
all scanner manufacturers to see if there are new products and other announcements.
One after another we are served up their contact screen making it only
two clicks to get to their web site address. With another click inside
Waypoint their home web page opens and our user is quickly to the task.
