Biography of Dr. Blozan

William Blozan has worked with information system technologies for over 20 years. He has provided management consulting in product positioning, marketing research, finance and business management with dozens of firms, including Proctor & Gamble, Eagle Snacks, Union Bank of Switzerland and Gordon S. Black & Associates. For the last ten years his primary area of specialization has been developing custom business application software. This has included Data-Intensive Intranets, LAN Applications, Databases, Decision Support Systems, and Statistical and Business Analysis. He earned a B.S. in mathematics with a strong supplement of physical sciences from UC Riverside and an MS in Operations Research in Management from the University of Rochester, where he also was awarded a Ph.D. in Business Administration focusing in Microeconomics and Marketing Research. For ten years he was a faculty member at various colleges and universities including UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, Washington University/St. Louis, and most recently National University, where he served as the principal faculty coordinator for undergraduate and graduate degree programs in computer science and software engineering. In 1993, he launched Fast Answers, providing custom Office Automation Systems for professional offices. Recent clients include Career Guidance Foundation, Alliance Pharmaceuticals, SDGE, Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Solar Turbines and a privately held law firm, Foundation for Financial Education. In 1996 a vertical application was introduced, Fast Rehab, which targeted custom wheelchair retailers. 22 retail stores adopted it when he sold it to a retail chain in Tennessee. He served as President for two years each of the San Diego SQL Server User Group, and earlier the Access User Group of San Diego. He has presented over 100 seminars and workshops. He currently serves on the Inventor's Review Board at Washington State University. His personal interests include sailing, gardening, theatre and music.
